Yul Kwon is another overachiever. On the bright side, he’s not an actor or singer. In high school, he graduated Valedictorian which is a fancy Latin way of saying top of his class. He attended similarly fancy university Stanford where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in symbolic systems. I…have no idea what that means but handily the people in charge of writing up the bios have added that it’s theoretical computer science in brackets for the dunces like me.
He attended officer candidate’s school and received some service award while at Stanford. Just when you thought he wasn’t enough of a smartypants, he also went on to earn his Doctorate from Yale and also served on the editorial board of the Yale Law Journal. He’s hopped around the business, technology and law spheres and is apparently just at good at law as he is at everything else. I’m still trying to figure out how he’s a member of the Bar since his degrees are in the science field.

Aha! A reason to dislike him besides seething jealousy. He helped draft parts of the Homeland Security Bill. He’s also worked at Google (more seething jealousy here because Google is the most awesome place to work ever) and is now a management consultant.
Even though I just said I had a reason to dislike him, once again I find myself prematurely loving someone based on their favourites. He loves Firefly. That alone earns him a million points from me. He’s also a fan of Blade Runner and Tolkien so his geek creds earn him another hundred thousand.
