I have always been interested in knowing where I come from. However my dad couldnt tell as he is not really interested in these kind of things. I asked him about Izithakazelo za kwaMsimang and he didnt know them.the only thing he knew was
Thabizolo Nonkosi- I also knew that so I guess he couldnt help.
( African Ipod)
We went away with friends this weekend and we found our selves at a Snake park- We saw a number of animals including a Lion. a friend was so happy and she started saying her family's praise song which was beautiful. She is married and no longer uses her maiden name. I was very impressed and asked her how she learned them. She simply said that her mother had taught them to her when she was young and told her not to forget them. She had to remind herself of them before she got married because her man's family were going to ask her to introduce herself.
So I went on a mission to at least know Izithakazelo zakithi especially seeing that I'm gonna be shedding the surname soon. I dont wanna be surprised when my new family asks me who I am and I find myself unable to answer.

Hhayi wethu Ms. Tebby, save yourself the stress and focus on the side that you know. I also know my mom's side only but according to tradition there's nothing wrong with that since my parents were never married so I'm officially a Mgojo and nothing else. Tjo guys, I am so impressed. I thought we were all lost. My family is just lost I don't even know which clan I'm actually from, but we just speak Zulu. My Gran has a German father on my dad's side, and my grandfather was a portuguese from Mozambique. So I guess I am of Mozambiquen/ Portuguese descent. Angizazi and it feels so sad. I don't want to even try and explain my mom's side. Well our surname is Msimango and only God knows where they got that from.

I'd actually love 2 know how each 1 was thought up,
&y,was it a way of only distinguishing different clans&how the 'sequence' which is sometimes vulgar is relevant to that specific clan etc.
