The
second season of the soccer-themed drama series
Zone 14, on SABC1, is far and away the most-watched drama series in South Africa.
In Week 25 (18 - 24 June) the show was second only to soapie
Generations in terms of viewing figures, drawing 3,840,300 viewers on average in its Tuesday 20h30 timeslot.
The following week - Week 26 (25 June - 1 July) - the show gained over 650,000 viewers to record 4,496,400 viewers with a 56% audience share. Once again it was second only to Generations.
The next two top drama series are also South African productions airing on SABC1, and one of them is a repeat broadcast.
Soul City VIIB is being re-screened on the channel on Tuesdays at 20h30 and in Week 25 managed 3,415,700 viewers on average and a 45% share.
Third is
Home Affairs III, which pulled 2,894,700 viewers for a 43% share on Thursday 21 June.
