Why Phuti Can't Do RGB!

He he he things happen very quickly in egoliwood ek se...

So, Phuti couldn't do Real Gobhoza coz she'd already signed with ETV to do a week long show about music in SA. She must be kicking herself for not having waited he he he. Phela Real Gobhoza is on SABC 1 baby and it's 13 episodes not 5 like RIPPED. Oh well, her loss, means other peeps get to shine on Fo Sho.

Let me stop being nasty. RIPPED sounds like a very nice show and though it is just a bridge between the end of Backstage (which reminds me I need to set up an interview with one of their cast members before it ends hi hi) and the first episode of Rhythm City, I certainly think it could have been easily stretched to the usual 13 episodes.

The once off show starts on Monday, 02 July 2007 at 18:30 on ETV and ends on Friday, 06 July 2007. Thereafter Rhythm City kicks off ke on Monday, 09 July.

Here is what you can expect from the 5 episodes of RIPPED, thanks to the efficient folks at ETV.

"Star Wars
A look at some of the most talked about (and never talked about) fights between artists, between artists and managers (and record companies).

Shooting Stars
A walk down memory lane – we ask ‘What Happened to..?’ some of our favourite artists who seemed to be here one moment and gone the next, artists we loved (for the moment they were around) as well as artists we never seem able to forget about.

Music & The Law
We have had our fair share in SA of artists in trouble with the law. We take a closer look at some of these crimes in their variety.

Child Stars
A look at the phenomenon of the child performer in a South African context. How did they manage a career on stage at a time when most of us were climbing trees and dealing with homework? What effect has this had on the (now) young adults.

Deaths that Shook the Industry
We pay tribute to just some of the artists whose deaths have affected the industry including artists, fans and families.

PLUS:

There will be interviews with some super-egos, revisiting of stars of yesteryear, as well as a closer look at the real issues facing artists in their rise to stardom. Each episode promises to be jam-packed with the juiciest news, reviews and views from a panel of celebrity commentators.
"

Somebody please remind me to watch coz this sounds like a really good show, will you be watching RIPPED? He he he everytime I say Ripped, I think of Sis RIbs...they must interview her when they talk about Star Wars..her fight with bra Tshepo is worth a mention hi hi hi.

If SABC 1 is smart, they will steal this idea and use it to bring us the low down/ inside info on the acting industry in SA. That is so intriguing and our actors are just as neglected. We need to find out what happened to the likes of Morobi (Dikolong), Khotso Nkhatho (Mopheme) etc.
Speaking of Mopheme and the likes, do you guys remember Parsons Matabane as Tlharantlhophe back in the day? And how we were all so saddened by Roseline Morapedi's death? Wow, I miss that woman, she was one helluva actress.
