Festive cricket back to bat on SABC3

Festive cricket was out for a duck on SABC3 and now it's back to bat against New Zealand. As reported on TVSA last month, the cricket was pulled from the channel's schedule because the broadcast contracts hadn't been finalised.

Someone behind-the-scenes has obviously been working for their holiday bonus because the contract complications have been sorted out and the cricket's back on the schedule in a last minute change.

The December T20 matches and the January ODI's against New Zealand will air live. The Test matches in January and March won't be broadcast live - these will be airing in daily highlights packages at the following times:

Weekday highlights 13h55 to 14h45
and
22h05 to 24h00
Saturday highlights 13h00 to 15h00
and
22h20 to 24h20
Sunday highlights 14h00 to 16h00
and
22h00 to 24h00

The first T20 match starts tomorrow (Friday, 21 December) - if the world doesn't end.

Here's a look at the T20 and ODI schedule for December and January:

South Africa is the number 1 test side in the world; we have the number 1 test bowler in the world and they are just going to only show us the highlights, seriously!? What is the matter with the public broadcaster? They need to get their act together and get their priorities straight. Poor planning is not an excuse.
