Ashish Gangapersad at the 2011 ceremony - he won the Favourite Newcomer award for his role as Prada on Isidingo. This year he's been nominated for Sexiest Man.

First Isidingo suffered a meltdown with the recent on-set fire and now the soapie's burning bright. YOU magazine have announced the nominees for the magazine's eighth annual Spectacular Awards and Isidingo headlines the list with six nods in total.

The soapie has been nominated in four categories, with two nominations in the Favourite Actress and Actor categories: for Michelle Botes (Cherel), Marisa Drummond (Kimberly), Vusi Kunene (Jefferson) and Robert Whitehead (Barker).

7de Laan follows closely with five nominations, Rhythm City and The Wild share three a piece while Generations and Scandal! trail behind with one each.

The final nominee list has been determined by reader feedback to the nominees when they've been featured in the magazine i.e. the celebrities and shows that have proven to be most popular with YOU readers in the past year.

The ceremony takes place at The Teatro at Montecasino for the first time this year, on Saturday 28 July. A TV broadcast hasn't been confirmed yet - we'll keep you posted when and if it is. TVSA bloggers PruLuv and Makisto will be in the action of the evening to grab the hott goss and arrest those guilty of fashion crimes.
