Miss Universe 2010
Handing over her crown: Ximena Navarrete of Mexico, Miss Universe 2010.

The countdown to Miss Universe 2011 has begun and TopTV's Star! channel will be airing the ceremony - as it did last year.

The ceremony takes place in São Paulo, Brazil later today (12 September) and airs in a delayed broadcast tomorrow (Tuesday, 13 September) at 13h00.  A repeat broadcast will be on this Saturday (17 September) at 12h00.

The pageant's a two-hour event, divided into three main categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interviews. The hosts this year are NBC anchor Natalie Morales and Andy Cohen - TV executive at Bravo and host of Watch What Happens Live.

They're joined by Jeannie Mai - host of Style Network's How Do I Look? - and Miss US 2004 Shandi Finnessy.

89 countries are participating this year, with our Miss SA Bokang Montjane in the thick of things. Here's a vid. of her on location, behind-the-scenes, giving her view on various questions, including: do you believe in life on other planets? ...
