The 38th annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place at the Hilton hotel in Las Vegas last night (Sunday, 19 June) and aired live in the US on CBS.

The awards were hosted by Wayne Brady and paid special tribute to Oprah who was awarded the Chairman’s Crystal Pillar Award for her multi-decade contribution to daytime TV.

Notable winners included The Bold and the Beautiful who took four awards, including Outstanding Drama Series for a third year in a row.  The show shared the Outstanding Directing Team Award with The Young and the Restless, which also won the Best Writing Team category.

Outstanding Talk Show was won by The Ellen DeGeneres Show, for a sixth time. Ellen won the same category from 2004 to 2007, as well as last year.
