How come there is nothing about Insidingo?

26 May 2011 14:58

I thnk that in most cases in Isidingo there is a lot of business talk and it plays on SABC 3 who focuses on english & awa ppl (black) normally do not watch this channel since most say its not catering 4 them, whilst Rhythm City is most of kasi talk and most ppl relate to it & ofcourse we majority do watch etv than SABC3... Ppl may say that in Generations 2 there is a lot and if on all abt business but hey!! Loyalty & being used to see the junk...

Ppl juss nid 2 tune 2 SABC 3 @18h30 weekdays and watch what is called a good quality soapie.

>>This cant be right,i thought sabc3 said they had like 8million people watch the royal wedding<<

These figures are correct according to the information that we obtained.  Not knowing how SABC3 arrived at their figure of 8 million, I can't comment on its accuracy.

II think your numbers may be incorrect. work on one of the shows and receive the ratings every morning. For example, on the 26 April, these were the ratings / audience for the top 5 soaps:

Generations 24.8 AR / 6,944,000
Rhythm City 13.6 AR / 3,808,000
Muvhango 12.8 AR / 3,584,000
Bold & Beautiful 11.3 AR / 3,164,000
Scandal 10.5 AR / 2,940,000

I think I know what the problem may be. In the article which you say how you calculate your figures, you state one AR represents 192,980 viewers. When in fact one AR now represents 280,000 viewers. This number changes as the size of the TAMS universe (total number of viewers in SA) is updated from time to time.

That makes sense, but do you know where I can find an official statement regarding this?  I've looked on the SAARF website but I can't find anything.

I've also looked on the SAARF site and found nothing. Don't know where you would go to get this officially. Perhaps try contacting their office directly? Or the publicity / marketing departments of the channels themselves. They might be able to assist. Good luck!
