Are You A Popstar? Audition Details

By now you should have read the news that e.tv is bringing back the reality contest Popstars, which kicks off on Saturday 4 September.

The show - which previously aired on SABC3 and SABC1 - has produced a number of music stars to date. If you're aged between 18 and 28 and have a kick-ass voice, you could be joining them.

Auditions will be held in four cities - Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria - starting on Saturday 21 August. The venues for all four cities will be Ster Kinekor theatres.

These are the details:

Durban

Dates: 21 and 22 August
Venue: Gateway

Cape Town

Dates: 28 and 29 August
Venue: Tyger Valley

Johannesburg

Dates: 4 and 5 September
Venue: Maponya Mall

Pretoria

Dates: 11 and 12 September
Venue: Centurion Mall

The doors open at 7am on each of the audition days, but take note: the auditions are limited to 1,000 contestants per day, so you have to get there early.

You can register when you arrive on the day, but we recommend you pre-register on the official Popstars website instead. That should save you some trouble when you get to the venue.

all the best one_size_fits_all....I went to all the previous Popstars auditions, 3 seconds and a nasty 'thank you' from Zwai was all I got for my troubles....I guess I was not what they were looking for or I can't sing. I would just go there to hear how others will be bimbing.

Dear TVSA - pls investigate whether if pop stars have a sponsor as industry rumours are that the sponsor pulled out at the last minute.R1.4 000 000

the it is again ...lets do this mara bathong if you know you cant sing plz dont start .....well i know it might happen that you have passion for singing but Voice is no wher to be found ...so plz step aside and let those who have Tickets catch the Gau train....coz you are waisting other people's opportunity aykabi bafe2 plz know what you are good at push this side and push this side the you will find the balance"... dont go there then you act like "no this was a mistake i quite"..or no was just taking chances or no i just wanted to be on tv I mean common....pshhhhhhhh...

lol yoh these auditions are rough, they cut the queue like MAD @ Maponya today, ppl were CRYING!!! it's tense! but i hope the new popstars last a bit longer than the previous ones
