Although word has not been officially released by the channel, TVSA can exclusively confirm that M-Net Action will be producing its second original reality competition series next year, entitled Way of the Warrior.

It will be hosted by former Idols host Colin Moss and produced by Gathered Moss Productions.

Best described as "The Contender Meets the Biggest Loser", Way of the Warrior will feature 16 overweight guys who - over the course of four intense months - will learn the martial art of Muay Thai, fighting each other to stay in the competition while also losing weight.

A group of sixteen 25- to 35-year-old men will have the opportunity to train at Dragon Power, South Africa's premier Muay Thai Gym, which is based in Cape Town.

They will be trained by two-time World Muay Thai Champion - Quentin “The Dragon” Chong - and through the transformative power of Martial Arts become lean, formidable fighting machines.

In theory.

The catch is that if these guys wish to stay in the gym they will have to fight their mates for it. Each contestant will have to use their new-found martial arts skills to fight their competitors in the ring, for the right to remain in the gym.

Using the Muay Thai techniques they have been taught, each contestant has to survive weeks of elimination as they fight for the honour of being named the ultimate warrior.

It is the second original reality competition produced for M-Net Action - the first was 2007's Stripteaze, hosted by the late Antonio Summerton, when the channel was still known as actionX.

Entries are currently open for Way of the Warrior - if you (or someone you know) would like to apply to be on the show, you must be a dude between 25-35 years old, overweight and available from January to April next year.

Auditions will be held in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth in the month of December and if you are one of the chosen top 16 contestants, you will be flown to Cape Town and provided with accommodation and food for the duration of your stay on the show.

To apply you can either fill in the online form here, or you can download it using this link (right-click and choose Save Target As...) and either email it to entries@gatheredmossproductions.com or mail it to the following address:

Way of the Warrior will premiere on M-Net Action later in 2010.
