Bio

Lebo Motsoeli (briefly known as Lebo Mabena) is an award-winning South African television presenter, voice-over artist, scriptwriter and producer, best known for presenting a variety of sports programmes for the SABC.

Motsoeli hosted Sport On 2 with Tshepo Mabona, was an anchor for SABC3 Sport and SABC1 Sport and presents Above the Bar, Hockistix, Spike and Sportsbuzz.

She's also presented Glory Hallelujah, the Coca Cola Game show, a Sunsilk advertorial and Crazy Games.

Having grown up loving hockey and representing Gauteng for three years, Lebo was introduced to the world of sport broadcasting in 2003. There she began as a voice over artist and scriptwriter for the youth programme Sportsbuzz, which she's still involved with to date.

Thereafter, she presented the first sport programme dedicated to woman, Women in Sport.

She went on to win the SAB Newcomer of the Year Merit award in 2006, as well as being recognised as the 2007 January Woman in Media by Gsport.

Her involvement in sport also includes the programmes Amakrokokroko, Pedal Talk, FNB African Soccer Show and being the face of the Siyanqoba 2010 Campaign.

Her annual visit to the coast includes the Comrades marathon, Durban Beach Africa, Two Oceans Marathon and Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

Her passion and knowledge for sport has taken her to Brazil for the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation World Games (IWAS Games) in 2005. This was her first international reporting for SABC sport.

She went on to Amsterdam for the International Paralympic World Athletics Champions in 2006 as a live television and radio reporter.

In 2007, Lebo made her mark at the Special Olympics where she reported the 10-day spectacle of 21 sporting codes.

The highlight of her career was when hosted the 2007 All Africa Games in Nigeria. This tested her knowledge for sport as she had to be South Africa's only link to the continental event.

Armed with a Communications Science degree, Lebo is the Lifestyle and Fashion Editor for Soccerlife magazine.

As an MC, Lebo has hosted The SA Sport Awards; SA Boxing awards; National Women's Day at the Union Buildings and the Sunsilk Launch.

Beginning on 10 June 2008, Lebo was the co-host (with Fezile Makhanya and Eugene Khoza) of the SABC1 magazine show Countdown 2010, which aims to keep South Africans informed and involved in the preparation for the largest sports event ever held on the African continent - the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

She later hosted Soccer 411 on SABC1 and the reality soccer search Nedbank Ke Yona, in 2013.
