Bio

Terence Bridgett is a South African actor best known for his role as Chico Booysens in the SABC3 soapie Isidingo (for which he won the Avanti award for Best Supporting Actor in 2001).

He is also known for his role as Dr. Leonard September in the hospital drama Jozi-H, which premiered in Canada in 2006 and on SABC3 in South Africa in 2007.

He also starred in the SABC2 variety comedy show Colour TV, in 2011.

Guest star appearances in the soapies 7de Laan and Backstage were followed by leads in the South African drama series Zero Tolerance, Snitch and The Lab.

Born and raised in Cape Town, Terence began his schooling at the Drakensberg Boys Choir School, matriculated at SACS and graduated from UCT Drama School with a BA, Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama and a Fleur du Cap nomination for Most Promising Student.

In 2007 he appeared in the MTV base mockumentary comedy show Stay Off The Grass, starring Crazy Monkey's Brendan Jack.

In it he plays the role of Lesley Labaschagne, a failed actor and bank clerk who runs a programme designed to help people deal with their music related issues, such as misogyny in rap music or a fanatical obsession with Christina Aguileira and other music-related disorders.

Lesley's overall aim is to get people "in touch with themselves, to love themselves, touch themselves...taste themselves!"

Terrence played the role of Wong September in the second season of the SABC2 drama series Erfsondes, in 2008. He won the 2010 SAFTA award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Wong.

In 2009 he was a regular cast member of the SABC2 sitcom Konsternasie Oppie Stasie, playing the role of Clayton La Toiya, the owner of a chic designer boutique that goes by the name of Toi-Toiya.

He also played the role of Warrick Paulse in the M-Net soapie Binneland (formerly known as Binnelanders and Binneland Sub Judice).

Terence teamed up with good friend Paul du Toit to star in the travel documentary series Rof of Spog (Rough or Smooth), from 2011-2012. The series aired in Afrikaans on SABC2 and in English on Mzansi Magic.

He also has a starring role as Nathan Jantjies, a member of parliament with a proud history of a passionate struggle during the turbulent late 1980s when he was ready to lay down his life for freedom and whose ambition knows no bounds, in the SABC2 parliamentary drama television series 90 Plein Street.

In 2017 he joined SABC1 soapie Generations in the role of family man Michael, debuting in December 2017.

In the same year he starred in the Afrikaans Christmas movie Liewe Kersveesvader. He also wrote and directed his first movie, the short transgender-themed film Fluid.

In 2018 he stars in the kykNET drama Knapsekêrels, debuting in January 2018.
