Ron Livingston is an American actor best known to TV audiences as Jack Berger in Sex and the City and Matt Flannery in Standoff.

He also achieved popular acclaim in the 1999 cult movie Office Space in which he played the lead role of Peter Gibbons.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ron studied a B.A. in Theatre Studies and English Literature at Yale University after graduating from Marion High School. 

He began acting in theatre productions while at university and soon moved to Chicago soon after graduating, where he landed a number of stage roles, including numerous productions at the Goodman Theatre.

During this time he made his film debut in 1992 in the Dolly Parton film Straight Talk in which he played a soldier.

In 1993 he moved to Los Angeles and officially began his career landing roles in the films Some Folks Call It A Slingblade and The Low Life and guest roles in various TV shows including JAG, Townies, Timecop and Players.

In 1999 he played Peter Gibbons in Office, in 2001 he played Captain Lewis Nixon in the mini-series Band Of Brothers and in 2001 and 2002 he had a recurring guest role as Alan Lowe in The Practice.

In 2002 and 2003 he went on to play Jack Berger in Sex and the City and in 2006 he starred as Matt Flannery in Fox's detective soapie Standoff.

He also appeared in one episode of House playing Sebastian Charles in the episode entitled TB Or Not TB.

Ron's other film credits include Adaptation (2002), The Cooler (2003), Winter Solstice (2004), Little Black Book (2004), The Life Coach (2005), Holly (2006), Relative Strangers (2006) and the independent film The Music Within (2007).
