Bio

Azania Mosaka (formerly Ndoro) is a South African radio DJ, television presenter and MC best known for hosting the Metro FM drivetime show Route 326 and later the 9am-noon show Total Bliss.

She is better known to television viewers as a judge on the third (2004) and fourth (2010) seasons of the reality competition Popstars (she was credited in 2004 as Amanda "Azania" Mosaka).

She started her career in 1996, co-hosting a youth talk show called The Joint on CCV, the SABC's now-defunct Contemporary Community Values channel. She has since been extensively involved with television and radio production.

Azania, who hails from Pimville in Soweto, completed a BCom degree at Wits University.

She started out in television on The Joint and then went on to travel to London where she lived and worked for three years. Upon her return from London, she presented the SABC1 variety music show Bassiq.

In 2003, Azania hosted Backstage Live on e.tv, a live daily programme where she interviewed the soapie's stars and took calls from viewers live every night.

She then joined Metro FM as a producer for Glen Lewis' show The Ride. From working on The Ride she moved to presenting Midnight Oasis, putting her time in during the dark hours of the night.

Before long, she earned her the attention of her bosses who gave her first the drive time slot (Route 326) and then the breakfast slot – The Sound of Breakfast. After that she was promoted to the 9-12 slot, hosting Total Bliss.

In her spare time, she enjoys mosaic and recording in her studio at home, with her husband. A passionate music lover, her favourite artist is Sting, and she loves and appreciates all genres of music - other than heavy metal.

Her personal favourite South African music stars are Bongo Maffin's Tandiswa Mazwai and ex-101 group member Preston.

In 2011 she divorced her husband Tony Ndoro after a six year marriage and returned to her maiden surname afterwards.

In 2012 she appeared in her own food lifestyle series Cooking with Azania, on SABC3.
