Jannie Moolman is a South African opera singer who was a celebrity coach on the third season of the singing reality show Supersterre.

Born in Kwazulu Natal, Molman began his career as a tenor in 1990 after completing a degree in Communication at the University of the Free State.

In 1992 he became a soloist  at the Pretoria State Theatre where he appeared in various stage productions including Attila, Der Rosonkavalier, Lucia di Lammermoor, Pagliacci, Le Nozzi de Figaro, Idomeneo, Der Fliegende Holländer, Turandot, Manon Lescaut and Fidelio Salomé.

In 1994 he made his Cape Town debut in The Count Of Luxemborg where he portrayed the role of Rene. Other operas he appeared in at this time include Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly) and Don José (Carmen).

In 2003 he released his first solo album, eponymously entitled Jannie Moolman in which he blended opera with lighter music.

In 2005 he followed this up with his second album entitled Hoeveld Kleure (Highveld Colours) and in 2007 he released his third and latest album Ek Kom Huistoe (I Come Home).

Over the course his career he's sung in the group Ons Eie Drie Tenore (Our Own Three Tenors) and collaborated Afrikaans singer Ruda Hugo in the stage production Ge Korsten: Hoor My Lied (Hear My Song) at the Klein Karoo National Arts festival. (KKNK)

Other musical productions he's appeared in include Klassieke Pelle (Classical Friends), written by Janice Honeyman and a colaborative show featuring himself, Dozi and the Africa Mama's for which they won a KKNK award for the artists who caused the biggest commotion at the festival.

Other awards he's won include the FNB Vita Life Award for the Most Promising Sanger for his role as Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor (1992) and the State Theatre/SAA Opera Foundation Award (1993).

Moolman came second in the Marsala International Singing competiton Sangkompetisie in Italy and in 1997 he received the FNB Vita Life Award for the Best Performance by a Male Singer.

He came third in the Belvedere Internasionale Singing competition in Wenen and in 1998 he received another FNB Vita Life Award for his portrayal of Dominee Venter in Roelof Temmingh's Buchuland.

In 1999 he also an FNB Vita Life Award for his performance as Prince Karl Franz in The Student Price.
