Sello Motloung is a South African actor best known for his role as Mpumi in the e.tv soapie Backstage, playing the role for 18 months.
In 2007 he played the role of Kutloano in the controversial SABC1 mini-series After Nine and played the lead role in a one-hour drama broadcast on SABC1 on Christmas Eve 2007, called Second Chance.
Other television shows he has appeared in include Isidingo, Madam and Eve, Soul City, Scoop Schoombie, Generations, Justice for All, Orlando, Secret in my Bosom, Milestone, Tarzan, Nna Sajene Kokobela, Khululeka, The Lab, Jozi-H, Jacob's Cross, Wild at Heart, Interrogation Room, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency and 90 Plein Street.
He also acted in the Canadian mini-series Human Cargo, in 2004. In 2012 he was the lead role in an episode of the e.tv drama series eKasi: Our Stories.
Sello has also acted in numerous feature films including Chikin Biznis, The Long Run, Ollie, Zulu Love Letter, Skilpoppe, Man to Man, Faith's Corner, Jerusalema, Invictus, Chanda's Secrets, Tirza and How to Steal 2 Million.
He was nominated for an M-Net All-Africa Film Award in the category Best Supporting Actor for his role in Chikin Biznis, in 1998.
He also has an extensive theatre resume having appeared in dozens of productions including Street Cleaners (1990), The Awakening (1991), The Good Woman of Sharkville (1996, for which he was nominated for a Vita Award for Best Supporting Actor), The Cherry Orchard (1997), Master Harold And The Boys (1998), Cold Stone Jug (2004) and Socks & Toothpaste, in 2006.
Originally from Meadowlands, he currently lives in Johannesburg. He speaks Sesotho, English, Setswana, Sepedi and Zulu.
