James Sikking (sometimes credited as James B. Sikking) is an American actor best known for his role as Lt. Howard Hunter on the television series Hill Street Blues, appearing in 89 episodes from 1981-1987.

He is also known for playing Dr. David Howser on 37 episodes of Doogie Howser, M.D., from 1989-1993; as well as for his role as Capt. Stan Jonas in Brooklyn South, appearing in 22 episodes from 1997-1998.

He guest starred in eight different episodes of The F.B.I. from 1965-1971, playing seven different characters on the show. He also had recurring roles in Combat!; Room 222; Hunter; The Guardian; and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Sikking has made guest appearances on numerous shows, including The Outer Limits; Bonanza; M*A*S*H; Little House on the Prairie; Eight Is Enough; The Man From Atlantis; Starsky And Hutch; The Bionic Woman; Charlie's Angels; L.A. Law; and Who's The Boss?

Feature films he has appeared in include The Magnificent Seven Ride! (1972); Scorpio (1973); Ordinary People (1980); Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984); Narrow Margin (1990); The Pelican Brief (1993); and Fever Pitch (2005).
