Keegan-Michael Key is an American actor best known as a cast member on MADtv (2004-2009) and for his starring role as Curtis on the second season of the sitcom Gary Unmarried, from 2009-2010.

He stars with his comedy partner Jordan Peele in the Comedy Central sketch show Key & Peele and has a starring role as Mark Rodriguez, a local cop and childhood friend of Maggie and Emma who used to date Emma in high school, in the television sitcom Playing House.

A Detroit native, Key received an M.F.A. in Theater at Penn State University before getting his start in comedy at Second City Detroit.

Key then moved to Second City Chicago, where he wrote and performed in the e.t.c. shows Holy War, Batman! and Curious George Goes to War, for which he won several Joseph Jefferson Awards (which honour excellence in Chicago theatre).

While still in Chicago, Key was hired as a regular on Fox's MADtv, which he starred in for six seasons. He played several original characters including Coach Hines, Eugene Struthers and Jovan Muskatelle, and his celebrity impressions including Dennis Rodman and Snoop Dogg.

Additionally, Key recurred as the Theoretical Criminal on Reno 911! and was a series regular on CBS's Gary Unmarried, playing Jay Mohr's best friend Curtis. He was also the host of the clip show The Planet's Funniest Animals, from 2008-2010.

His guest star credits include NBC's ER and Love Bites, Adult Swim's Children's Hospital, and FX's The League.

Key's feature film credits include Universal's Role Models, Warner Bros.' Due Date, Disney's MR. 3000, and Sony's Just Go With It and Bucky Larson. Key also appears in the Universal feature Wanderlust, opposite Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd.

Additionally, Key is a founding member of the Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck, Michigan, where he has directed several productions. He has taught acting and improvisation at the University of Detroit, Second City Training Center, Mosaic Youth Theatre, and Wayne State University.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Cynthia Blaise and their two dogs.
