Synopsis

Presenter Claire Sweeney and designer Derek Taylor manage a large team of painters, decorators and other workmen who invade, by invitation, a home and spend the next sixty minutes making changes to all the rooms to drag the home into the 21st century.

The challenge is to redecorate four rooms in a house in an hour. There are several designers attached to the show including Alison Cork, Stephanie Dunning, John Amabile, Julia Kendell and Derek Taylor.

Every day the team descend on a property where one of the homeowners, whose property is being made-over, will know nothing about it until it's finished.

He or she will go out for a day with a friend, who is in the know, while their partner welcomes the team of experts into their home for the makeover.

In just 60 minutes, the team will give the house a re-style, giving viewers plenty of tips and practical advice along the way. But will the designers be able to pull it off?

With the pressure of the clock ticking by, they will be facing the prospect of making the transformation from dreary to divine in no time.

60 Minute Makeover was originally presented for the first three seasons by Claire Sweeney. Terri Dwyer took over as the presenter at the beginning of Season 4.
