Stark Sands is an American actor best known for his role as Lt. Nathaniel Fick in the Iraq war television mini-series Generation Kill, in 2008.

He also starred as Kenny McLaren in the short-lived police procedural television series NYC 22, in 2012.

Sands is a Tony Award-nominated actor for his role in the 2007 revival of Journey's End. Additionally, Sands received a Theatre World Award in recognition of his outstanding New York City stage debut performance. He returned to Broadway in the musical adaptation of Green Day's smash hit album, American Idiot.

Additional theatre credits include the 2009 musical adaptation of Bonnie & Clyde at the La Jolla Playhouse, The Classic Stage Company's production of The Tempest, which earned him the Actors' Equity Foundation's St. Clair Bayfield Award, which honours the best performance by an actor in a Shakespearean play in the New York metropolitan area, and the 2009 Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park production of Twelfth Night.

Sands first earned recognition for his role as a recurring love interest to the angst-ridden teen played by Lauren Ambrose on the television series Six Feet Under. He also appeared in the Emmy Award-nominated television mini-series Generation Kill.

Sands made his feature film debut in the independent comedy Die, Mommie, Die. Additional film roles include Flags of Our Fathers, Pretty Persuasion, Shall We Dance, Chasing Liberty, 11:14, Catch That Kid and the independent film My Sassy Girl.

Sands grew up in Dallas where he began acting on the stage at age 13. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from the University of Southern California.

During his four years in the conservatory program, he appeared in more than a dozen plays and musicals, including Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Hamlet, Pippin and Guys and Dolls.
