Wilhelm van der Walt is a South African actor best known for his role as villainous Ty Prinsloo in the SABC2 soapie 7de Laan, from 2012-2016.

After completing a BA Drama (Hons) from the University of the Free State in 2007, he completed a Masters degree in Acting from the University of Stellenbosch, in 2009.

Wilhelm has an extensive theatre resumé and has worked for numerous prominent directors including Gerben Kamper, Antoinette Kellerman, Ralph Lawson, Marthinus Basson, Waldemar Schultz, Chris Weare, Paul Warwick Griffin, Janice Honeyman, Luke Ellenbogen, Albert Maritz, Jaco Bouwer, Sandra Temmingh, Nicola Hanekom and Sylvaine Strike.

He has acted in a number of short films including March the Second, Nantes, Bloedson, Onder die Tafel and Soos Gister. He also appeared in the feature film Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux.

In television, he had a guest starring role in the kykNET crime anthology series Die Boland Moorde in an episode that aired on 30 April, 2013 (Season 1, Episode 5).

He returned to the show for another guest spot as a different character in the second season, appearing in Season 2, Episode 5 (which aired on 14 March, 2017).

He next had a major recurring role as Jan in the kykNET legal drama series Fynskrif, first appearing in Season 1, Episode 2 (which aired on 17 July, 2018). He returned for the second season in 2019.

Wilhelm next had a guest role in an episode of the kykNET supernatural drama series Die Spreeus, which aired on 4 June, 2019 (Season 1, Episode 9).

Also in 2019, he joined the kykNET arts show Fiësta as a presenter.

He guest starred as Christo de Lange in the Season 2 premiere of the kykNET crime drama Die Byl, which aired on 5 January, 2020.

A few days later he began the recurring role of Damien Brand in the kykNET drama series Projek Dina, which premiered on 14 January, 2020.

Later that year, he landed the starring role of Bertie Heyns, an unpolished diamond on the wrong side of 30 who faces an existential crisis, in the kykNET comedy-drama series Ekstra Medium.

The series debuted on 22 September, 2020.
