I know you are a bookworm, so i thought you'd find this interesting, why o le quiet so: is it lack of elec? here it goes: Be the early reader and catch the best buys Anyone into books will be familiar with the Exclusive Books sales. Its that time again. Starting on Wednesday, Exclusive Books nationwide Summer Sale offers more than 320 000 books discounted up to 75% off their list price and at an average retail price of R56. Get there early if you want first pickings but even if you dont theres more than enough good stuff to go around and this time round especially, theres a wonderful choice of books that will usually be regarded as luxury. Doors open early, at 7.30am and Exclusive Books has shipped some 7 000 boxes of fabulous books weighing 170 000km to its branches around the country. Books in practically all categories will be on sale: fiction and childrens books, history and biography, art and photography, lifestyle and entertainment, health and self-improvement. Here is a glimpse of the treasure trove of fine books on offer and some of the books included in our prize hampers (see details): Irises, Barbara Jeppe (R191): The largest book-format, containing pictures so beautiful you will want to frame them. Pompeii (R265): With superb text by Italian university members and wonderful illustrations, this is a book worth having. Francesco's Italy (R131): A very personal view of this magical country; you will never tire of looking at this exquisite book. The Art Book (R332): This is a useful reference book to have on your shelves. It has contributions listed alphabetically and is an excellent production. So if you cant afford to wander through the art galleries of the world, this is the next best thing. The Movie Book (R266): Every movie buff should have this fully comprehensive reference to the great film stars, directors and movies of all time. U2 Show (R169): A fascinating book on one of the most famous rock bands, this describes the music, the tours, the cutting edge technology, the back stage action, the commitment the band members have to social responsibility. Forever Africa (R234): This is one of those surprise coffee table books that offers so much more. The authors have a wonderful understanding and sensibility about Africa and they show the continent in a very novel and rewarding light.. The Book of Lasts (R71): A most unusual concept, this illustrated books provides a review of many important events, like the last state to join the US Hawaii, JFKs last days, Sinatras last concert, and more. Its obviously gimmicky but fun. Water Colour Landscapes (R152): This is an entirely different offering: a how-to book complete with paints a new hobby for 2008, perhaps? Cooking books are always good to buy on sales because the choice is good, the prices better and they also make exciting gifts: Included in the range available are the popular Marie Claire series Luscious (R110) which has both the pretty pictures as well as luscious recipes. Dont miss the fabulous series of pocket books from the River Caf with titles including Puddings, Salads and Vegetables, Fish and Shellfish, priced at R51. Theres more so if youre a cookery book fan, theres a feast waiting. Always popular on the sale shelves is the selection of gardening and lifestyle books. Look out for these titles: Grasses and Bamboos (R73): Another unusual book, it has exquisite photography and good advice on how to include these plants in your garden. City Living (R107): There are many of us who enjoy dressing up our homes. This is one of those books that give you a chance to look at interiors with fresh eyes. There is always a pile of excellent fiction in hardcover and paperback on the sale. There are many novels by famous name authors such as: Michael Crichton, Timeline (R41); Chris Ryan, Blackout (R41); Douglas Kennedy, Temptation (61); Charlotte Bingham, In Distant Fields (R71); all good reads. Then a few from more edgy writers including The Medici Seal, Theresa Breslin (R61) who gives Dan Brown a run for his money; The Rosary Girls, Richard Montanari (R41) dealing with young Catholic women who are slaughtered, each holding a rosary in a series of brutal killings; The First Casualty, Ben Elton (R36) which is a novel set in Word War 1; Equinox, Michael White (R41), a story based on fact about two young women found brutally murdered; Practically Perfect, Katie Fforde (R61); and two books in one: Pandora and The Vampire Armand, by Anne Rice (R20) both books will intrigue fans of vampires. Non-fiction paperbacks, among many, are: Peace is the Way, Deepak Chopra (R46) bringing war and violence to an end; Cracking the Free Mason's Code, Robert L.D. Cooper (R56); London, The Biography, Peter Ackroyd (R81) superb, buy it now if you missed it last time; Diana, Death of a Goddess, David Cohen (R45); The Six Value Medals, Edward do Bono (R51); Nuclear Showdown: North Korea Takes on the World, Gordon G Chang (R66); The Kennedys: The Conspiracy to Destroy a Dynasty, Matthew Smith (R51). There are far too many varieties to mention, but there are many childrens books on the sale, from very simple stories for the little ones to teenage fiction, a brilliant book on ballet, and an excellent Oxford Illustrated Science Encyclopedia. A treasure trove awaits you. As the booksellers suggest: Search enthusiastically, we promise you will find magnificent gems. The sale will last for as long as stocks do, but get there early for the best buys.

But I'm trying to get betta organised on the clean-up front! Btw, loved your music article :) And KingK's comment on Malaika and the wedding music!!! Have to fess up that Malaika get me going ... And that I also sit with hundreds of CDs ... OK, then. Hugs ...Oh yes, think the Untouchables need to act fast on their branding to capture the moment!!

one problem with you south africans is that you just don't want to accept that we naija pplz are better than you. once you hear any thing bad about naija you all jump on the band wagon and start castigating all naija. you can imagine that fat frog miriam makebe calling us all thieves. Are all south african' s HIV carriers and car jacking thugs? who killed lucky? open your minds and read the figures. There are more gun crimes in american schools than any where else on earth, are they all gun toting thugs? only in america will Rev priests molest small kids, are all americans, peodephiles ? A naija man designed the fastest computer, why won't that silly oprah talk about that and other achievements and even if she does, will you south africans help spread the news? open your mind, free your selves.
