Good news... our voices have been heard!
After sustained pressure from TVSA and its members, other publications, radio stations and forums, the DStv magazine fiasco has been solved - in the exact way I requested in my article,
How to solve DStv's Dish magazine fiasco:
I firmly believe that the magazine needs to be an opt in option for new and old subscribers and that everyone who says, "Yes!" must get one.
MultiChoice has confirmed that all Premium, Extra and Compact subscribers can now receive a magazine. No matter
when you signed up for DStv.
Previously their policy was that subscribers who signed up after April 2014 weren't eligible to receive one. This from the
DStv forum about it:
“Since April 2014, we've not been giving new customers the printed version of the DStv magazine. All DStv Premium and Compact customers who subscribed to DStv before 1 April 2014 qualify to receive the magazine but they do need to request it. “
This has been changed and it doesn't matter when you started subscribing. In a
post on DStv's forum, MultiChoice Head of Corporate Communications Marietjie Groenewald confirmed the news saying,
We would like to reassure our customers that we are still making the print magazine available to customers who would like to get it. All DStv Premium, Extra and Compact customers are entitled to receive a printed DStv magazine... you can take the response published here today as the final word.
The magazines aren't being sent to subscribers automatically - you need to request one. If you aren't receiving a mag and want one, you can send an e-mail to:
enquiries@multichoice.co.za. (Premium and Extra subscribers get the Premium mag and Compact subscribers get Compact one.)
