So I hit downtown Jozi this past weekend to grace Mika Stefano’s party. I had to calm the little straatmate inside me from klapping the guy at the entrance when he told us to pay to get in, luckily my civilized self kicked back in time. The party was so celebrity dry, I would have collected more gossip at a graveyard.
Mr Party Shimself!
I struggled to find ‘relevant’ people in the rowdy crowd but Mika showed me a few known faces. For some reason many people in that party thought they were famous for something...the flash of a camera sent an infectious posturing virus across the floor...
Very Friendly and pretty Eda Rose looking like she's going to Pick 'n Pay
I haven’t attended any of Mika’s previous parties before but I got one word to sum this year’s one: DRAMA! Colourful was the theme and even though most did not adhere to it, the brave few pulled out some flamboyant sheets and wore them. I must admit that the exhilarating dance moves from some of the pips there kept that place alive; some people just don’t get tired...kids!
The guy above had a dress on, and his dance moves were alarming, i had to take a pic of him with his She-friends....
Gawjus Pearl Thusi was there with RGB...
The DJ’s on the decks delivered some seriously heavy jams and I soon caught the bug and joined in...I saw Thomas Gumede and each time i wanted to snap him he’d disappear...
I found these two guys [above] at the VIP senction and asked to snap them, the guy on the right seems familiar, know him from anywhere?
Right there in the centre stage, i found these two boys [above] dropping it like its a hot potato. Guy on the left dropped a good set on the decks earlier in the party...Way to go young one!
Then bumped into Silverster Chauke [above], for those who dont know, this is the guy behind all those controversial Nandos ads...must say, Mr man is friendly for real!
And then there was Thabiso Bapela [left] (Thembisile Ntaka's Manager) and Thabiso Makhabela [right] (YFM DJ)
A moment of sileence for the guy with the gogles, they dont only look heavy and uncomfortable, but they don't really match with the outfit...I saw him getting snapped earlier on but I couldn't ask him what he was famous for...afterall many people in there thought they've "arrived"....
All in all, the party was a great jol and it was worth hitting the cold Jozi streets for...Mika better invite
TVSA again next year...
