Clash of the Choirs calls for voices

The search for singers for Mzansi Magic's Clash of the Choirs begins this weekend (11 and 12 November) with the first auditions in Jozi.

The series is searching for voices to make up a total of seven choirs from across the country - one choir from each province.

Auditions start in Gauteng and then move through the other six provinces, ending in Cape Town just before the festive season.

Who's the show looking for?

Singers between the ages of 18 to 35.

Auditions are open to both choirs and individuals who'll be auditioning for celebrity Choir Masters.

The Choir Masters are:

Gauteng: Zakes Bantwini
Mpumalanga: Zwai Bala
KZN: Khaya Mthethwa
Limpopo: Judith Sephuma
Free State: Thembe Seete
North West: Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse
Cape Town: Winnie Khumalo

Choirs will audition as a choir, individuals will audition individually and the Choir Master will choose the best choirs and individual voices to make up their ultimate super choir who'll represent the province.

Audition must-knows:

At the auditions each choir or singer will take to the stage and perform an acapella (without accompaniment) song of their choice, after which the Choir Master will make selections for his choir.

Audition forms will be availble on www.mzansimagic.tv. You can pre-register before go or you can register at the auditions.

Audition doors are open from 08h00 to 18h00.

You need to take ID book along.

Mpumalanga
Dates: Saturday, 17 and Sunday, 18 November 2012
Venue: Nelspruit Hotel

KZN
Dates: Saturday, 24 and Sunday, 25 November 2012
Venue: The Square Boutique Hotel, 250 Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Lalucia Office Park

Limpopo
Dates: Saturday, 1 December and Sunday, 2 December 2012
Venue: Fusion Boutique Hotel, 4 Schoeman Street, Polokwane

Free State
Dates: Saturday, 8 and Sunday, 9 December 2012
Venue: President Hotel, 1 Union Avenue, Bloemfontein

North West
Dates: Saturday, 15 and Sunday, 16 December 2012
Venue: Orion Hotel on Donkerhoek Road, Rustenburg

Cape Town
Dates: Friday, 21 and Saturday, 22 December 2012
Venue: Roodebloem Studios, 43 Roodebloem Road, Woodstock

Don't c Eastern Cape here.....thought this said "one choir from each Province"?

@mpummy They've combined Eastern, Western and Northern Cape into one audition region and choir - so all areas are covered but seven provinces are competing instead of nine.

@ tvsaadmin, in a choir if some members of thechoir are below the age of 18 are they also allowed to enter?????

@ayashah We've equired and they aren't unfortunately - apparently it's because of the times that the choirs will be needed - from the sounds of it the times and dates might interfere with their schooling so they need to be over 18.
