Season 6

With more eager participants, Who Do You Think You Are? returns to explore the extraordinary family histories of some of the UK’s most popular celebrities.

In each episode, a celebrity embarks on a personal and often emotional journey to trace their ancestry, frequently unearthing long-buried family scandals and secrets along the way.

Among this series’ participants is impressionist Rory Bremner, who learns about the part his father played in the post-war reconstruction and discovers how he managed to find time to get to know the locals.

Chef Rick Stein travels to China to explore the life of his great-grandfather Henry Parkes, a 19th-century Methodist missionary, and the series also features actress Zoë Wanamaker, who was born in New York, but fled to the UK with her family to escape the anti-Communist McCarthy witch-hunts.

As their inspiring stories unfold the stars learn who they truly are, who their ancestors were and their identity and place in history.
