The series premiered in the USA on ABC on 11 August, 1997.
The View premiered in South Africa on SABC3 on Monday 1 September 2008, at 11h20, beginning with the first episodes of the 11th season.
The first 10 seasons of The View were not aired in South Africa.
Synopsis
The View, recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day.
The View features ABC News correspondent Barbara Walters, comedian Joy Behar, journalist Meredith Vieira, lawyer Star Jones and actress Debbie Matenopoulos.
The View consists of hot topics in the news, the best experts in their field, celebrity interviews and general entertainment. The program celebrated its 2000th show on February 2, 2006.
