Season 1

Dress My Nest is an American interior design reality makeover television series produced by PB&J Television Inc. in which interior designer Thom Filicia customises original design plans for participants that best express their personal style.

The series aired in the USA on the Style Network from 28 March, 2007 to 24 June, 2009. There are 40 half-hour episodes in four seasons.

Dress My Nest originally aired in South Africa on DStv's The Style Network, ending its run on 7 September, 2009. It later aired on TopTV's Top One channel. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

The series premiered on Top One on Wednesday 13 February 2013, at 20h00. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 10 episodes in the first season.

Season 1

Interior design guru Thom Filicia believes that the key to good interior design is to understand as much as possible about his client.

Part decorator and part "design detective," Thom uses his own unique process to identify what most inspires and defines the homeowner.

In each episodes of Dress My Nest, Filicia and resident fashion expert Erika Martin meet with a woman looking to redesign her living space. They check out the space she wants designed and review her wardrobe to help find that “defining outfit.”

The two experts then “hatch the plan” — analyzing the inspirational outfit to determine exactly what it is saying about the homeowner and how it can inspire the décor of the room to be made over.

Can a twill hat help you select your furniture? How can animal skin shoes inform the colour of a room?

After conceiving the design, Thom presents it to the show participant for reactions and input. Then he and his team hit the streets to find all the right elements to bring his vision to life — furniture and decorative touches, rugs, couches, wall hangings and paint — everything that will come together to reflect what her favourite outfit revealed.

Finally, the designers present the new room to the homeowner, hoping she finds it as comfortable and stylish as that favourite outfit. While the results are often unpredictable, they are always as unique as the participating homeowners.
