Season 1

The Ricky Gervais Show is a comedy audio show in the UK starring Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington, later adapted into an animated televised version which consists of past audiobooks with animation, drawn in a style similar to classic era Hanna-Barbera cartoons, describing jokes in a literal context.

The series aired in the USA on HBO and in the UK on Channel 4 from 19 February, 2010 to 13 July, 2012. There are 39 half-hour episodes in three seasons.

The Ricky Gervais Show premiered in South Africa on DStv's Vuzu channel on Tuesday 4 January 2011, at 21h30. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 1 aired on Vuzu from 4 January to 29 March, 2011, on Tuesdays at 21h30. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are 13 episodes in the first season.

Synopsis

From the creators of The Office and Extras comes the new HBO comedy series The Ricky Gervais Show.

The series is an animated version of Gervais' podcasts that earned a spot in The Guinness Book of World Records for the most downloads.

It is voiced by Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and colleague and friend Karl Pilkington, whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines which include the merits of 20th century inventions; Karl's suggestion for population control; how philosophy has evolved through the ages; Karl's round head; and his thoughts on charity.

The Ricky Gervais Show is produced for HBO Entertainment by Media Rights Capital in association with Wildbrain; executive producers, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Karl Pilkington, Glyn Hughes and Bob Higgins; co-executive producer, Lisa Ullmann; supervising producer, Margaret M.
