Biker Build-Off is an American reality television series created by Thom Beers in which two reputed custom motorcycle builders from different parts of America each build a unique custom bike in their respective style, pitting their teams and expertise against each other to see who is the better builder.
The series was originally conceived as a single special called The Great Biker Build-Off. It premiered in the USA on the Discovery Channel on 28 September, 2002.
Biker Build-Off airs in South Africa on DStv's Discovery Channel. Season 6 premieres on Wednesday 23 January 2008, at 11h55.
Synopsis
Building custom motorcycles takes centre stage during Biker Build-Off.
Viewers get a glimpse at some of the premiere bike builders in the country, as they face off tournament-style, in order to be named the world's greatest motorcycle fabricator.
In just 30 days two of the world's greatest motorcycle fabricators will each build a one-off custom bike. Then they will meet and ride their amazing creations hundreds of miles to a motorcycle event at which the people will decide which fabricator has made the coolest bike.
Once known only to a small circle of hardcore motorcycle enthusiasts, customizers are now household names and the bad-boy art form has transitioned into mainstream pop culture.
