i dnt hate beyonce...bt alicia keys if you know real music she more talented than beyonce..she writes/produce/plays instrument on her own..grammys speaks for them selves and beyonce loses when nomminated alicia keys on(best female 8x )..alicia keys is the best female of the decade according to rolling stones mag...every album takes a different direction...alicia keys is a women of class she does not need to be naked/be circus on stage to be more talent...ask sm1 who knows music..beyonce fans hype her *bleep!* music and she is just famous for dancing...please dnt compare alicia keys to beyonce by looks cz she is way beautiful and dts an insult to her

@qavile I'm with you, I don't hate Beyonce, I do like some of her songs but I think she's overrated..... Compared to Alicia Keys I'll definitely go for Alicia at any given time which I think is underrated, her songs touch my heart.

I am what people might consider the BeyHive, but I also like Alicia Keys. I like both ladies, you can like someone without denegrating other people. Both ladies have their lanes and stay in it. Alicia is more soulful whilst Bey is more flexible with her music. Lemonade has a few soulful jams, when Bey harmonises she takes me back to the days of Destiny's child.
Last I checked these were Video Music Awards, key words here people, meaning whoever put out the best video wins. That's why you have categories such as best visual effects and best editing. So, these nominations are not about who sings better, but who had a better video. Whether you like Bey or not, she slays and if it was a choice between Bey and Alicia, then I ride with Bey all day.

@Ingenuity im also a fan of beyonce bt now her music trash and beyonce apeals to young peal..fact is alicia keys is talented and im not mad just bcz she was not nominated cz she last had songs 2012 then now by #InCommon hit..beyon does have best music videos and thats a fact...bt i was nust stating fact that alicia is big in usa etc and considerd as the best artist of this generations..just like nathi&vusi nova people would say nathi is more talented since he is more famous for now and sells most records bt truth vusi nova is more talented=zahara&zonke"zonke is more talented bt zahara more known ana sells more records"..im not taking anything on beyonce

Actually, in the US, Alicia has had a bit of trouble as it is alleged that she had an affair with Swiss Beatz whilst he was still married, so people don't kindly to sidechicks. I say allegedly cos the story is a bit murky. There is a bit of double standards if your ask me, she is catching heat while Swiss is basically getting away scott free. I mean before Alicia, he cheated with a lady from one of the European countries. The lady even fell pregnant from a one night stand and he only found out after the kid was a year old or something like that.

But I digress,  fact of the matter is that, Bey does a bit of everything, I mean Lemonade has rock (Don't hurt yourself anyone), country (daddy lessons), pop, RnB, you name it she has covered it. It is not her fault that she is popular and she sells out arena everywhere she goes. Marketing also plays a part. Watch Lemonade and you will realise that all the noms are well deserved.

I like Alicia, and she is beautiful, with or without makeup,  I like her humanitarian work. Alicia did try to be a bit more pop with In Common hasn't really exceeded expectations. It was number 1 on the SA charts though. like I said, both ladies have their lanes and they stay in them. It is possible to love both artists without having to choose.
