Yesterday we told you about the National Film and Video Foundation's
National bursary programme which offers bursaries for those want to study film and TV in South Africa and it received such a huge and enthusiastic response that we need to tell you about the other bursary programme by the NFVF.
It's an international programme for post graduate students who want to further their studies in film and TV internationally.
There are four of these bursaries available for the 2017 academic year. Each bursary has a cap of R250 000 inclusive of tuition and living expenses.
Application criteria
Applicants must:
- Apply six months before the course starts;
- Be a South African citizen;
- Have a good academic record;
- Demonstrate a need for a financial assistance; and
- Be enrolled at an accredited overseas tertiary institution for a full time, post graduate film/TV programme (course must be commencing in January 2017 and can't be available in South Africa).
NB: The bursary is for production so Live Performance or Acting diplomas/degrees are excluded.
Applications must be accompanied by a detailed motivation why you should be awarded a bursary together with all the certified copies of supporting documents indicated in the application form.
How to apply
You can apply by completing an online application which you'll find here: NFVF bursary application form. You need to register on the application portal to access the form. Once you've done this, you need to choose the option: "Application for International Bursary (July 2016)"
Applications won't be considered if:
- The application form is incomplete or wrong information is provided,
- Supporting documents are missing or not certified,

Application deadline: 31 August 2016 at midnight.
