Kevin Smith hits a milestone as Isidingo's Frank dies

So the end has come for Frank and he's breathed his last breath.

Calvin decided to pull the plug on Isidingo on Friday night, ending Frank's struggle between life and death. His death marks the end of an era and a notable milestone for actor Kevin Smith who was on the soapie for 10 years.

To mark the occasion we've put together some flash facts about him that you might not know:

1. He isn't married. He's been quoted as saying that he's married to his work.

2. He dated his onscreen Isidingo lover Jo Da Silva (Natasha) in a scandalous extra-marital affair. They broke up in 2009.

3. He'll be directing on Isidingo full-time but he's taking a six-week break first. He's taken off to recover from the life threatening motorcyle leg injury he suffered that left him walking with a cane on the show.

4. He had another intensive brush with death 15 years ago, after leaving Egoli. He was struck by bad flu and ended up in intensive care for two weeks. The flu went to his lungs and weakened his heart.

5. This is what he looked like partying at Isidingo's 2000th birthday episode in 2007:

6. He loves mountains and mountaineering.

7. He's a dancer too. He's appeared in numerous dance dramas on stage and he played a dance teacher on e.tv's Backstage.

All the best to you Kevin! We look forward to seeing you at a dance class nearby.

OMG, Frank has died! O_O. Haven't been watching the show in about a month. Poor Frank. I remember him arriving back in 2005 during the time of Leone Haines. May Ashley Callie's soul RIP. Goodluck to Kevin and future endeavors
