Idols: the new all-expenses paid holiday!

Preparations for Idols 11 are in full swing and from the sounds of it many of the wannabes deserve a major eyeroll already.

The show's been doing masterclasses and filmed Theatre Week last week and apparently many of the Golden Ticket winners treated the experience as if they were on all expenses paid vacay'. The point of the week is for them to have a focused and glamorous place to work from so they can provide hours of entertainment for us but it seems there were those who just wanted to take it easy.

Word from an insider close to the show is that many of them had this attitude and were frustrating as a result. They obviously got so involved in the whole "we're away from home" thing they forgot about why they were there.  Of course they're shooting themselves in the foot  - if they have no oooomph to perform it's going to make them look bad - the trouble is we have to suffer it.

Such a cheek! Loads of people would love to be on the show but didn't make it so they lost their positions for nothing. Also, the production puts so much into the contestants they have to give something back because there's no point to it otherwise. Ultimately they need to commit and be passionate and do their best for us because we need to be entertained.

The season starts in June so it'll be interesting to see what they're like.

He's just released his album Zingaphy - released it yesterday! Here's a link on iTunes: Shaded Soul!.

It's includes the song that was written for him for Idols - Let Me Love You - and My Lady - a single he released last month.

Some quotes from him about it:

“The album was inspired by my family who are my pillars of strength and it’s dedicated to my late mother Dorah Bones. I wish she was here to see my dreams come true.”

“It was a great honour to work with some of the best artists, producers and songwriters in the music business such as Ziyon, Kwesta, Reason, RJ Benjamin, Zubz, Jaziel Brothers, Thaso, Buks, and Ganja Beatz. I also collaborated with fellow newcomers Tresor and Zw(A)rt. This is my debut album but it is going to lay the foundation for many more to come; it marks the beginning of many great things in the future and I firmly believe it will succeed”.
