Universal Channel September 2012 Highlights

SERIES:

CSI:NY (Repeat)
Weeknights from 7 November 2012 at 19:10

CSI NY Final

Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise), a former marine police detective whose calm exterior masks the pain of losing his wife, leads a team of forensics experts as they investigate crimes in the gritty urban jungle of New York.

Taylor is assisted by his partner Stella (melina Kanakaredes), no-nonsense tough guy Don (Eddie Cahill), and coroner Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper).

Two and a Half Men 6

Tuesday double-bills from 20 November 2012 at 20:00

two_and_a_half_men_6

The misadventures of the Harper boys continue, with louche jingle-writer Charlie (Charlie Sheen) still sharing his beach-house with uptight, divorced brother Alan (Jon Cryer) and Alan’s son Jake (Angus T Jones).

As the series begins, it seems as if Charlie might have some new responsibilities of his own after an old flame turns up with a son who seems suspiciously familiar - as in, his appearance, clothes and behaviour are all startlingly reminiscent of a young Charlie.

As he learns the precautions he took in the past might not have been enough, and starts to contemplate paying maintenance for this apparently long-lost offshoot of the Harper clan, our heroes become Two and Two Half Men.

Further episodes see relations between the brothers crumble after Charlie
refuses to repay a $38 dollar loan, with the situation rapidly deteriorating through
petrol-theft to eviction, and inevitable carnage ensuing when Charlie meets
Alan’s attractive receptionist.

Perhaps the most unnerving development comes when Charlie learns to cook...while Alan and Jake decide to see if emulating Charlie’s boozing and womanising will bring them happiness. Will the natural order of Harper-dom ever be restored?

Psych 4 (Repeat)
Weeknights from 21 November 2012 at 18:20

Psych Season 4

Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and his best friend Gus (Dulé Hill) are back, still using Shawn’s fake psychic skills - in reality based around finely-honed powers of observation and deduction - to crack the cases too outlandish for other detectives to handle.

As the fourth season opens, a holiday in Vancouver suddenly becomes a
pursuit of Pierre Despereaux (Princess bride star Cary Elwes), who’s been eluding the guys’ boss Lassiter (Timothy omundson) for years. Will Shawn and Gus bring him to book?

FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIES
Fridays from 20:00

Friday Night Movies

This month’s romances include Boys and Girls, a comedy about the tensions which result after two long-term friends (Freddie Prinze Jr and Claire Forlani) spend the night together. Jason biggs and Alyson Hannigan also feature.

My Boss’s Daughter sees Tom (Ashton Kutcher) offering to house-sit for his boss, in order to get close to sexy daughter Lisa (Tara reid) - but even aside from the obvious problems with this plan, other visitors keep getting in the way.

Finally, in The Truth About Love, a drunken bet leads a married woman (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to send her husband (Jimi mistry) an anonymous Valentine - which he hides.

ACTION MOVIE NIGHT
Thursdays from 20h00

American Warships

It’s Disasters at Sea this month on Universal. When Earth comes under attack from a fleet of mysterious alien ships, the fate of the planet rests with the last of the American Warships - the USS Iowa. Can the crew fulfil their duties and save mankind from an untimely apocalypse? Mario van Peebles and Rocky’s Carl Weathers star.

And, based on real events, The Philadelphia Experiment sees a WWII
battleship pulled forward through time, bringing disaster in its wake. Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary) heads the cast.

Universal Channel is on DStv, Channel 117.

I'm still shocked that Universal's gone HD instead of M-Net Series. When you compare their monthly highlight's M-Net Series is a million percent better and yet Universal's gone HD with repeat after repeat.
