Coming up on 3rd Degree:

Episode title: Frank Chikane: 8 Days in September

Broadcast date: Tuesday, 24 April 2012

Teaser ....

The day in September 2008 that changed the course of South African politics, and shocked the nation. The recall of a sitting president Thabo Mbeki, by the party he was born in.

In the much talked about book “8 Days in September”, former director general of the presidency Rev. Frank Chikane recalls the events that lead up to the sacking of past President Thabo Mbeki. It is the first insider account of this politically pivotal event, but Chikane has come under attack for being biased and not giving an honest version of Mbeki’s presidency.

The firing of a sitting president was viewed by many as an alien move by the ruling party. Many factors, no more so then Mbeki’s distance from his own party, led to his demise.

3rd Degree looks at the events that led to former President Mbeki’s recall, and speaks to Rev. Frank Chikane about his book, the criticism and Mbeki’s presidency.

3rd Degree is on e.tv on Tuesdays at 21h30.

*Sets a reminder* Not only did it change the course of the country but Africa as a whole.  Shem i miss him and I would really love to sit with him for just an hour nje and discuss Southern and African politics.

Haai, it is safe to say that 3rd degree did not play on the e-news channel last night, they were running with the news of Malema's confirmation of expulsion as if we did not know already that he was out of favour with the ANC.
