Oprah looks back on the 60's with a look at talk show sets, far-out gadgets,  commercials and her "favorite things" from the decade.

Then, a 60's TV legend surprises the unsuspecting audience - who are all dressed up in their 60's best.

Plus, the stars of the show "Mad Men," January Jones and Jon Hamm stop by to discuss how their show is taking Sunday nights by storm.

Also, some rockin' 60's tunes by The Jersey Boys, one of the biggest musical acts on Broadway.

America's First Face Transplant and the Only Living Mermaid Girl


Just weeks after this show aired, the worlds only living mermaid girl passed away. Today, with her family’s blessing, Oprah remembers Shiloh, the world’s only living mermaid girl.

She was born with one of the rarest conditions in the world, Sirenomelia, or mermaid syndrome that contains two legs that are stuck together to make one whole leg.

Then, Connie Culp is America’s first face transplant recipient. She survived what doctors thought was impossible. With the blast of a shotgun, her nose, cheeks, mouth and right eye were literally blown off and she was forced to live without a face for five years. Oprah shares her story of survival.

Former child TV star Mackenzie Phillips goes public with a bombshell of a family secret that set off the scandal of the year. What she reveals is the consensual incestuous relationship she had with her father, rock legend John Phillips of “The Mamas & The Papas.”

Phillips also shares stories about her encounter with Mick Jagger and her most recent heroin and cocaine bust.

Today's Oprah Friday's Live features guest Mackenzie Phillips, her half-sister Chynna Phillips, comments from her former step-mother Michelle Phillips and half-sister Bijou Phillips, Jay Leno and Harry Connick Jr.

After Mackenzie Phillips first appeared on Oprah to reveal her family secret of an incestuous affair with her father, she knew there would be some backlash from her comments, but has since received more than she originally expected.

Rebroadcast: Dr Phil Returns To The Oprah Show: My Father Is A Killer


For the first time in seven years, since he launched his own, Dr. Phil returns to the Oprah show. On the show: Oprah and Dr. Phil set the record straight about rumours surrounding their relationship.

Then, Dr. Phil shares a story about a young woman who had been hiding a dark family secret until she reached out for help on his show. Her father, known as the happy face killer, was sentenced to life in prison after he confessed to torturing and gruesomely murdering eight women. Plus, for the first time, she meets a victim who got away face-to-face.



The Oprah Winfrey Show is on SABC3 Mondays to Fridays at 17h35; with a rebroadcast episode on Saturdays at 14h30.

 O! No tha mermaid girl passed away! That is so bad........ eish just goes to show that things can be very bad in life. Be thank ful for we  have and stop complaining.
