Starting on Discovery in March, 2009:

Overhaulin' 5
Premiere date: Friday, 6 March 2009 at 21h00

Chip Foose and his A-Team get to work on more decrepit cars in need of some major overhaulin'.

This time round most of the vehicles in question speak of emotional bonds, between fathers and sons, fathers and daughters and between brothers. Behind the rust and flat batteries are stories of tragedy and loss which the rebuilding of the cars will perhaps go some way to repairing.

Matt’s renovation of his 1965 Mustang Coupe was put on hold because of his brother’s lung cancer so, with his brother’s help, the team move in to finish the job.

Harrison’s father was killed when he was knocked off his bike by a car and they never had the chance to finish their Chevy Nova restoration - Chip and the gang step in to make the car a tribute to Dad.

Braniac 6
Premiere date: Sunday, 15 March 2009 at 17h00

The team of Brainiacs return for a sixth season to apply scientific principles to unusual situations.

Experiments coming up in the new season: the team tests out the hardness of different objects using thermite and a tonne of bricks dropped from a crane, and finds out whether variety acts can still perform while receiving electric shocks and whether it is possible to walk on custard.

Ultimate Survival 3
Premiere date: Monday, 30 March 2009 at 21h00

ultimate_survival

Adventurer Bear Grylls uses his military training and daring spirit to demonstrate survival skills in extreme terrain and weather conditions.

His travels this season take him through the Baja Peninsula located in the desert of Mexico, Louisiana's hurricane-ravaged swamps, sea cliffs on the west coast of Ireland, the Black Hills, the Great Plains and the inhospitable Badlands of South Dakota.

Throughout his adventures Bear braves alligator-infested swamps, scales thousand-foot high mountains and scavenges for raw insects, rodents and deadly snakes. He is accompanied by his camera crew, who risk their lives to capture every moment of his exploits on camera.
