In Tuesday nights humdinging Survivor Fiji Finale 56-year old computer engineer Yau-Man Chan had his torch snuffed before reaching his sought-after final three.

He sold his car to Dreamz, Dreamz refused to pay and the Curse of the Car struck once more through them both - proving that there's NO ways in Survivor hell you can win the game if you get even a sniff of the car.

The good news for Yau fans is that we haven't seen the last of him - he'll be back to play again in two seasons time. We'll be seeing Season 15: China next; and then after that it's Micronesia - a Fans vrs Favourites showdown.

The show features ultimate fans playing Favourite players chosen from Seasons 7 through to 15.

After the chaos of Tuesday night I hooked up with Yau to find out what he has to say about it all:

Tashi: What was your strategy going into the show?
Yau-Man: I was the "old feeble guy" so my strategy was to stay low, be nice to everyone, be useful at the camp and try really hard to not be a liability at challenges when we were in teams. Then after merge, I was going to use all resources (mostly mental) I have to get as far as I could.

Tashi: Before going to the Tribal Council where you used your immunity idol, you told Earl you had bad vibes. What exactly made you tune into them?
Yau-Man: Upon reflection after the deal made with Dreamz, I realised that I probably "overplayed" and that Dreamz would want to get rid of me so he does not have to get into the Final 4 with me.

Tashi: The million buck question! If the roles were reversed and you were
Dreamz - what would you have done? Would you have stuck with the deal?
Yau-Man: Yes - absolutely. I guess it was obvious to me that if I made such a deal with Dreamz and were I not to honour the deal, no one on the jury would give me a single vote! And I would have been shown up as the bad guy!

Tashi: If you could remake the deal with him - what would it be?
Yau-Man: I would not make it after the challenge. I would wait till the Final 4 - while we were hanging - and when the two of us were left hanging, I would ask him to let go if I gave him the truck.

Tashi: Your motto:
Love many,
Trust few,
Do wrong to none ... how did you come up with it?
Yau-Man: I remembered it from Shakespeare - but I misquoted - it really should be "Love All, Trust Few, Do Wrong to None." But it's been many years since I read it in my schooldays in an Anglican Mission school in Borneo.

Tashi:  Have you spoken to Dreamz since after the Finale?
Yau-Man: No. I tried to contact him but he has not called me back.

Tashi: What was the most difficult thing about everything?
Yau-Man: The lack of food, the awful weather (it poured buckets every day and nothing was dry!) and the bugs.

Tashi: What was the most life-changing?
Yau-Man: I found out how tough I really am and how I can deal with stressful situations much better than I thought I could.

Tashi: If the Finale had come down to yourself and Earl and you weren't yourself, but a viewer - who would you have wanted to win and why?
Yau-Man: I would want me to win - since overall I played much harder than Earl.

Tashi:  Are you a Survivor fan from before your season?
Yau-Man: No, I never watched Survivor except the first season since it was made in Borneo where I grew up.

Tashi: When you set off for a second adventure for Fans vs Favourites, how was your mind-set towards the game different from the first time?
Yau-Man: I did not know it was going to be Fans vs Favourites. I thought it would be an All-Stars (past Survivors only) so I was trying to make friends with Survivors from the past seasons.

Ends

Here are the other Survivors in Fans vrs Favourites that we already know i.e. not including players from China ... (in a spoiler tag in case you don't want to know yet)

Yau-Man: No. I tried to contact him but he has not called me back.

Dreamz is feeling guilty for betraying Yau and i wonder if he still has the truck.

<<<<Yau-Man: I would want me to win - since overall I played much harder than Earl.>>>>>

This much is true Yau played an AWESOME game and deserved to be the soul Survivor Fiji.It was quite obvious after they voted off Yau.I still dont understand what was Cassandra doing in the final,I guess they had to keep her cos she was not a threat to them.Maar she really was useless jeeerrrrrrrr!!! I liked Earl very much but let's face it Yau-Man deserved to win more than anybody else.Good luck for your next try Yau-Man.

I am so sad Yau got played by dreamz... he derved this! He kicked ass and Earl should have given him 50% because without Yau he could have maybe nt gotten that far... yah, Yau is the man! I cant wait for the Micronesia survivor... He must try TAR(the amazing race) too...
