For the first time in about 3 months, I had nothing to do on Sunday and I sat down and watched the Isidingo Omni bus. And as much as I haven’t been watching and I have no idea on what has been going on (except for articles I read on TVSA) I was able to watch it with intrigue – the word intrigue should not be used in the same sentence with The Bold and The Beautiful (which is a shame with the amount of budget they have), Days of Our Lives and Gen(Game)erations. The plots are more believable and realistic than most soapies.
On Friday I posted an article about Gen(Game)erations and its “incredible” script which makes the actors irresistible/appealing/enticing to watch BUT I take my hat off to whoever writes Isidingo - amazing thing to do coz my hat is permanently glued to my head. No; Mr-whoever-writes-Isidingo, I’m not ass licking for a job (wena Mfundi, I dare you to hire me) but that show is great (Isidingo guys not Gen(Game)erations…stay with me here) – yes, there are times when they fumble… we are all human and allowed to fumble and make mistakes but over all – G.R.E.A.T job guys.
Alec and the gang ended up in General Essien’s hands…shu I must say he even gave me a good scare sitting comfortably on my bed watching. The torture seemed real and was superb acting from everyone – even Chippa was excellent (remember Chippa from Backstage – who could have thought he has such talent somewhere in him).
• Isidingo crew could have used someone with a real Nigerian-up Africa accent instead of Dr Mandla Sithole (which is where they fumbled) but this does not mean he didn’t do justice to the part.
• Their biggest…b.i.g.g.e.s.t fumble was not to create a role for me where I “accidentally” get stuck in an elevator with Trevor (not Manual mense)…..
As part of the torture endured - Jericho’s 14 year old daughter was to be gang raped by the “hungry” guards while they watched helplessly.
Chippa was shot dead in front of them and all Essien wanted was some account number but Alec was not cracking – hayi mina… I would have sung dem numbers – whoever trained Alec, trained with well. Due to the love that Lee has for him, she knew he was in trouble and came to the rescue. General Essien under estimated our darling Leoni Haines, he did not know that Ms Haines could reach him in Up-Africa – a bomb under his desk… Like father like daughter…. When daddy hears about this; he’ll be proud of you my dear Leoni. They were eventually released; not because Alec is just stubborn but because Lee made Essien a deal – “you realise the man I love, you can get whatever you want” not in those words but… something like that.
Len…eish Len – Len always manages to get himself in a “situation”. uLen and Farrow have shagged up - right… manje sista-gal is tidying up the whole household, cooking for all and doing all sorts – she even re-organised Paul’s clothes cupboard and she made some excuse for it by bringing in her dead brother…yah yah yah – I wasn’t listening much – she bores me… Manje ubrothas – Len, is not taking the whole chores thing well – cleaning the fridge and doing laundry is cramping his style, she wakes the poor brotha up at 6 am (stop being a baby Len, most people are up by then) and taking him for a jog… his story is that they got enough exercise the night before AND… she’s even de-toxin the man – he replied by saying it took a long time to build up the toxis in his body… not that he had a choice – he ended up drinking that thing. I think it’s safe to say… uLen ba mushaye nge lock down siriaaaas (eerrhhh in English – no jumping without Farrow saying so).
“Innocent-angelic” Maggie has an evil side to him… she agreed to go with Farrow’s chores thing but has ulterior motives – Farrow who’s heading up everything is sleeping with Len who hates chores. I want to see how this will play out – Will Len’s love for Farrow over come his love for toxis and not being bossed around?
Barker is back at it again. Shu – I love that man (if he was not out of my preffered market....I'd "ungay" HIM - Good God I would - just call it doing my bit for the female species)… Barker's always trying something – in a nutshell….He's a hassler with money, in expensive clothes, who knows how to play the game, with a touch of GOLD and always looking for a new venture. He wants AfriCast and ON!TV to merge – like he said to Siyanda…he wont take credit for the originality but for putting it together. Oh… why did Cherel leave – she’d be trying to get shares and somehow head up the new station. Even though Baker doesn’t have enough shares at ON!TV; Rajesh is worried – he’s worried about what Barker is up to (Raj baby – u should know by now Barker is always up to something), phela uRaj heard that Barker is buying up ON!TV shares… This is a good enough reason to be worried where that man is concerned!!
Since I get home late from work…I’ll have to wait up until Sunday to wait to see how things go.
Is there a soul out there in TVSA land that agrees with Lemon_Lite that Isidingo deserves **** (4 gold stars - it would have been 5 if they could just give me that role with Trevor...eish Trevor)
