  Afrikaans News Anchor Positions

eNews is looking to hire two Afrikaans news anchors to join the news team.

Reporting to the Group Head: eNews Division your key performance areas will include:
  • Be able to translate English stories into Afrikaans, adhering to the duration and the facts.
  • Must be able to present and read the news in Afrikaans when required. This would entail familiarizing oneself with the bulletin and rehearsing, if necessary.
  • Do voice-overs, when required.
  • Assist with News & traffic updates, guests and check accuracy and update on-air crawlers when necessary.
  • Research, script and produce interviews for Morning Edition as part of the editorial team.
  • Produce packages and inserts for the show, when required.
Requirements:
  • 2 years minimum experience in broadcasting/Newsroom
  • Must have a News and current affairs background
  • Must be dedicated and be able to work in a team
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must have presentation skills and a trained voice
  • Must have a full understanding of the Afrikaans Language and be able to do translations from English to Afrikaans
Note:

The successful candidates will be required to work irregular hours including weekends and public holidays.
