Season 3

This season featured a twist to the format: for the first time the seven choirmasters had to draw from a hat for the province they would represent.

The auditions took place in seven South African provinces in September and October 2015, kicking off in Gauteng from 19-20 September, at the Pyramid Conference Centre in Johannesburg.

The following weekend (26 – 27 September), Mpumalanga auditions took place at the Protea Hotel in Nelspruit; the Limpopo leg at the Bolivia Lodge in Polokwane; and the KwaZulu-Natal leg at the Durban University of Technology.

On the weekend of 3 – 4 October, auditions took place in the Eastern Cape at the Fort Hare Audiovisual Centre; at Belmont Square in Cape Town; and at Eunice High School in Bloemfontein.

This season's seven Choirmasters are as follows:

Limpopo's music king Penny Penny (Limpopo)
Singer and actress Kelly Khumalo (Gauteng)
Rapper iFani (Western Cape)
Producer and performer JR (Free State)
Queen of House Bucie Nqwiliso (Eastern Cape)
Spoken word poet Busiswa Gqulu, also known as Kalawa Chikita (KwaZulu-Natal)
Gospel singer S'fiso Ncwane (Mpumalanga)

The winning choir this season wins R1,000,000 in prize money, with an additional R250,000 being donated to a charity organisation of their choice.
