A new healthy lifestyle channel called The Good Life Network launches on DStv on 1 December, on channel 199.

It's not a full-time channel but rather it's going to be on air for four months over summer.

It's a group project between Soul City, Ochre Media and the National Department of Health and the programming aims to inspire positive living.

These are some of the shows that will air on it:

Health Busters: breaking down myths about health,
Food Police: focuses on designing healthier meals,
SuperDoc: covers critical women’s health issues,
Village Shrink: focuses on improving mental health,
Cook for Life: gives tips and recipes on cooking tasty and healthy African meals),
Get Up Stand Up: celebrates those making a difference,
Fit Life: looks at how to achieve fitness outside the gym,
Health Bulletins: features citizen journalism combined with headline stories, Straight Up: deals with youth sexuality,
Icheke: promotes routine health screening.

It's going to be on the Access, Family, Compact, Extra and Premium bouquets.
