e.tv is looking to hire a Video Editor to report to the Station Manager.
Your key performance areas will include:
- Digitising and transcoding
- Doing own shot selection
- Laying voice-overs
- Printing to tape, Masters and TX masters
- Putting shots in order and duration of shots
- Selecting cutting points
- Selecting the required shots
- Taking direction
- Transitions between shots
- Troubleshooting
Requirements: At least 2 years experience as on-line video editor using linear and/or non-linear editing equipment.
- An interest in news, documentaries and current affairs
- Titling and graphics inserting
- Final grading of shots
Knowledge of:
- Technical broadcast specifications i.e. video, chrominance, luminance and audio levels
- Editing equipment
- Linear & non-linear editing
- Sound
- Final Cut Pro editing program and Apple Mac systems will be an advantage
Understanding of:
- Broadcasting environment
- Role players
- Shot descriptions
- The principles of esthetical video editing i.e. continuity, breathing, pace etc.
Ability to:
- Work in a digital environment
- Work in a live & pre-record environment
- Work independently
- Work under pressure making deadlines
- Work with crew and editorial staff
