e.tv is looking to hire a junior publicist to handle publicity for the channel.
Reporting to the Head: Publicity, key performance areas include:
Publicity duties:
- Compiling, proof-reading and distributing the schedule to key media
- Writing up movie synopses for sales and call centre
- Handling queries from journalists regarding programme schedule and other related matters
- Compiling synopses of programmes, movies and sport for the new week
- Creating a daily summary of viewing highlights 5 days in advance
- Writing publicity material for publication in the media
Web duties:
- Assist the Web publicist with updating information on the company websites
General Duties :
- Coaching other staff in your areas of expertise
- Assisting with graphics for print work
- Assisting with projects managed by the department
- Assisting other departments that may require your expertise
Requirements:
- Degree / diploma in journalism or public relations
- Worked in Journalism and/or PR for at least 3 years
- A track record of writing for newspapers/magazines
- Good writing skills
- Adherence to deadlines and correctness of information is essential
- Creativity
- Good interpersonal skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Need to have a natural understanding of what works visually in print and on television
