SCD: Grethe Tangos Out - With A Pig

EPISODE THREE:

Urgh – what is up with this crowd when they leave?! Everything was going along so nicely as Grethe got eliminated and said her farewells and then next thing everything turned vicious.

If I were anywhere near that Harold he wouldn’t be able to dance ever again ‘cos I’d have given him the most crippling punch I could possibly muster with all my strength.

I just realized! - for the first time I actually understand why anyone would get into a bar brawl - I would gladly have in this instance.

It was like he started talking and it slowly dawned on me that I couldn’t quite believe what he was saying and then it all quickly got worse and worse in how horrible he was.

I was so finished by what he said I had to go back to listen to it again:

Harold: "I knew tonight we were leaving so I had time to like kinda prepare “Harold, whew, you can sleep tomorrow,” so that kinda helps ‘cos that’s what experience does. I don’t like mediocrity, I don’t like not doing well, I know I dance well, I did my best but *hand gesture* - relief."

The way he said it was over-the-edge psycho and it all coming after the kind, respectful things Grethe had had to say about him made it even meaner. The cheek of it – did he actually think anyone would be interested enough to watch him dancing on TV without his “mediocre” celebrity?

Last week TVSA readers mentioned they thought he was too bossy in his rehearsals with Grethe and I thought it too but thought perhaps it was an act to big-up the drama or something but after this I actually don’t know how Grethe managed to last as long as she did. She was really put down and manipulated by him  – it’s hectic that this kind of bullying could happen in such broad daylight on TV.

As for the rest of them – they were okay but not nearly as focused or as firey as they’ve been previously I didn’t think. Dingaan and Phemelo defs deserved their first place - they were very into it and hit the right jive with every move but everyone else was iffy – espesh all the girls. Not one of their tango’s looked anything like the Scent Of A Woman tango’s I imagined and they all seemed clingy and uncertain.

I thought Jeannie was judged waay too highly for the nothing hovering she did, which was made more annoying by her using her concern for Tamara as an excuse for not doing well last week. Puhlease.

I must say Tamara managed to pull it together quite well considering she’s literally ripped her knee off it’s cap and Feesh was back to being useless and didn’t even bother trying to move - which can only be an act ‘cos soccer’s all about jiving feet. If you ask me he’s wisening up to the fact that, despite his monstrosity of an outfit, he’s somehow getting increasingly sexy the more useless he is.

Freedom and Mary were fun as per but I agreed with the judges who said that they weren’t up to their usual high standard. It didn’t matter though - I have confidence that their over-confidence won’t be a prob for them in the future.

Even though I still don’t have one clue how the viewer ratings work with the judges I thought everyone made the right decision with the final goodbye being between Grethe and Riaan. There’s noo ways I would have been prepared to watch another week of Harold so everything ended as it should and hopefully it’s the last we’ll see of his creepy moustache and drawn on hair for forever.
