It's here! The time has arrived for Big Brother Africa 7 a.k.a StarGame a.k.a the season that promises to throttle the relationships between those who've entered with their partner.
The season premieres this Sunday (6 May) at 20h00 CAT. If you're a fellow uhdikt (addict) you'll know that Big Brother
always comes to life at 19h00 on the Sunday it premieres but this time it's starting at 20h00.
I got so stressed out about the change in time I've triple-checked that 20h00's correct and word from M-Net is that it
definitely is.
The 24-hour channel will be on Channel 198 as per usual, on the Premium and Compact bouquets and will have
two feeds as it did last year.
The fact that we'll be able to choose between two points of view strongly suggests two houses and a division of housemates - which makes sense with the housemates entering in partners.
Also, check out this description of the design:
One look is inspired by the diners of 50s Hollywood, colourful pastels and bold bright shapes accented by the iconic black and white check patterns, bringing back memories of jukeboxes, bunk beds and soda fountains. The other is sleek and sophisticated, echoing a classy and exclusive dance club where opulence and luxury are the keys to a good time. Polished glass, gold finishes and delicate accessories…it is style meets elegance all the way."
Definitely suggests two houses.
The main live feed from Channel 198 will also be available on DStv Mobile, the Drifta and the Walka. In South Africa and Namibia it's going to be replacing the E! mobile channel for the duration of the series whereas it's going to be added to the mobile bouquet as an extra channel in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana. I don't know why it's different for different countries - must have to do with bandwidth or reception or something.
Also back:
I.K. as host (let's hope they've hired someone new to dress him) - and the Daily shows which will be on Mzansi Magic for the first time this year, daily at 22h00.
As for what we can expect from the feel of it ... the set's complete and ready for an annual christening. Members of the media will be moving into the house tomorrow morning (Thursday) for a sneak peak of what it's like. If there are two houses they may live in both or only one - you know how the show likes to hide second houses. They'll live in it for a night, give it a test run, do Diary Room entries and hopefully make it out sane.
TVSA blogger
Pruluv will be going in for us again after successfully
making it out last year. Keep a lookout for her inside scoop on what the experience is like.
Bring it all
on. I'm already annoyed by the housemates and we haven't even met them yet, bwah!
