When busy-bodies Audrey and Zinhle popped up in Pearl's office at the start The Lab 2 I was delighted. They were so fab in the first season that having them back and buzzing with their new AyZee choir venture's such a perfect hysterical Season 2 thing for them to do.

Seeing them again's made me realise that they're my fave cameo characters in any South African show ever and that the SAFTA's need to create a new category for them aka Best Guest/Cameo Performance In A Show - they need to scoop the win for the first year of it natch.

Here's goss about them both:

thembsie_150Fast facts on Thembsie Matu, who plays Zinhle

She's the answer to Monday's Who's That?

Ad's we've seen her in include: the Doom, Disprin, Joko and Cell C ads - alongside Audrey.

Thembsie has her own actors agency and training school for kids. The school's called Themsie Matli Dramatic Arts School. It was supposed to be Matu but the first business cards were misprinted when it launched and it's stayed Matli ever since. Thembsie: "I'm cool with it, hey."

Some of Thembsie's actors are on uGugu no Andile and Jacob's Cross 3.

Thembsie enjoys going out to restaurants with her family - the Wimpy specifically.

"I don't go to church as much as I want to because of time, but I'm a church goer."

She likes to laugh - a lot.

What you see is what you get.

She has two children - a daughter, Namosa (14) and a son, Neo (16).

She enjoys watching soccer on TV - and at a stadium, when she has the time.

As from 30 June Thembsie started shooting on Rhythm City. She'll playing a new character Sis B - a nurse who loves her work who's battling the odds ie  underpaid and overworked.

Classic Thembsie quote: "Lucky me when I auditioned for the Doom ad I didn't know what the word "obese" meant! When I arrived they said they didn't want fat people so to speak. We were plus/minus 800 people for that role and they took me 'cos I said: "I'm a dancer, singer and I have theatre experience - forget the "fat" thing." I got it and proved myself.

Five fast facts on Zinhle

She's an ambitious woman - a go-getter, who's got courage.

She has a family. She has a motherly touch and always thinks of other people.

What Zinhle has to say about Audrey: "Audrey knows everything and Zinhle's clever, she copies her..."

jessie_150_1Fast facts on Jessie Palmer, who plays Audrey

Jessie started acting in 1989. Her first role was as Nonkuleleko in Zikhethele 111.

She's a qualified make-up artist.

She's a mother of three: two daughters Ntobile (16) and Mbali (5) and a son - Nhlanhla (7).

She's goes out to the movies and travels a lot with her family. She also watches a lot of TV - her fave shows are on The Home Channel.

She always sings to herself.

She goes to church every Sunday.

She does industrial theatre and commercials. Ad's we've seen her in include: two Cell C ad's - the one alongside Zinhle, a DStv ad, ads for Legalwise, Globacom and Citroen.

She's done a course in production (TV, behind-the-scenes etc) and wants to pursue it next year.

Jessie: "I enjoy doing lots of things - I don't want to focus on one thing so that if one side is quiet I can do something else. I'm multi-talented. *laughs*"

Classic Jessie quote: "I'm married to a wonderful husband."

Five fast facts on Audrey

She's a go-getter. She wants to see things happen and wants to be part of it.

Whatever she lays her hands on, she makes sure it's a success.

She has a family and wants to be an example to her children and the community.

She never does anything for herself only.

She doesn't mind being a nuisance. She's always pestering someone to make sure she has a deal.

A classic clip of them from the start of the season - their comic timing's so excellent the scene firmly secures Best Cameo:

In case you haven't heard, YouTube's got a planet-wide disappearing problem. If it says the vid's not available, refresh and it should appear.
