While I was snooping for news about America's Next Top Model 3 I was browsing wiki and TV channel websites and was interested to see what Yoanna House and some of the other finalists have been up to since Season 2 finished last week.
Yoanna
Immediately after winning the show in 2004 she didn't do anything particularly much.
She did a couple of runway shows, a TV ad or two and a cover story for a magazine but then in 2005 she grew her hair and got cast as the host of a show called The Look For Less - for the Style Network channel in the US.
I've heard bits and pieces about the channel but I never realised it's directly linked to E! Entertainment - the two are sister channels. Each episode of The Look features a real person who gets given a fashion stylist, limited budget and an hour and together they need to turn their dreg into glitz.
The show clearly likes their reality contestants - before Yoanna got the gig it was hosted by Survivor Elisabeth Filarksi/Hasselbeck aka the most perved contestant of all time. (She's looking too Alien don't you think?)
Elisabeth left The Look to host on the US daytime talk show The View - which she's still doing.
Yoanna's also still busy-busy hosting The Look and doesn't seem to show any signs of leaving soon. I'm surprised we haven't seen her on E! - she'd be way more chiselled than either of those two horses who host The Daily 10.
In between hosting the show she also signed a deal to be the face of an Isreali cosmetics place and she did a stint of being the official face of The CW Network - the channel Top Model's on in the US. (Other shows they make include Veronica Mars, Supernatural and Everybody Hates Chris.)
Mercedes
News on runner-up Mercedes Scelba-Shorte is that she's done various TV commercials, magazine shoots and a bit of acting.
In 2004 she had a walk-on roles in different shows including the Bold & The Beautiful - where she played a surprise-surprise - schmodel.
Since then and now she hasn't done much acting but this year she had a fairly sizeably credited role in the Aussie dancing movie Razzle Dazzle.
She also makes a guest appearance in this years seventh season of Top Model, which we should get to see in about 2010 if we're lucky.
Shandi
As for what happened to randi Shandi - she's turned into a DJ.
She wisened up a year after the show, dumped her lazy boyfriend (it's the only reason he forgave her), turned him into a "friend" and now she's working on being a spectacled DJ.
Shandi - DJ??? does modelling and DJing go together, i had no idea!LOL @ Shandi's photo. Yoanna looks stunning with the long hair.

Yoanna reminds me of Nigella in that pic. I preferred her with short hair though. Shandi( my fave nerd after Napoleon Dynamite) Im was sure she'd get into modelling,man. Well, whatever makes her happy, I guess...

Mercedes was in Bold and Beautiful, well I must've missed that co's I never take notice of the models who come in for their fittings, they'r just nameless faces.
I see Bold loves getting reality stars to guest star in their show, I remember Tom Westman from Survivor appeared and currently on American screens there's some American Idol dude on as well.

So ANTM does not guarantee you a modelling career? Its just exposure, and if you are lucky you get to launch your career. I thought Tyra took the winner under her wing and groomed her to be like her....
